Katavi National Park entry fees
All fees below are VAT-exclusive, exactly as TANAPA publishes them. 18% VAT is added on top: the $30 conservation fee becomes $35.40 at the gate.
If you only want the answer
TANAPA's standard tier: $30 plus 18% VAT per person per day, $47.20 for a foreign vehicle up to 2,000 kg ($177 above it, where most safari 4x4s land), $35.40 camping, all cashless. The fees are the cheap part of Katavi; getting there is where the money goes.

Flat rate year-round: Katavi has no peak/low season split. Permits allow multiple entries within their validity (day permit: 12 daylight hours; sleep-over permit: 24 hours).

TANAPA's own website says $70. Here is why we still say $30.
The Katavi page on tanzaniaparks.go.tz currently lists $70 for international adults. The official TANAPA tariff sheet says $30 plus 18% VAT.
The same $70 sits on the Ruaha, Katavi, Mahale, Nyerere and Tarangire pages, which is a giveaway: it is the Serengeti rate, repeated. The same block on both the Ruaha and Katavi pages also puts the nearest airport 40 km from Kilimanjaro, which is several hundred kilometres out. It reads as template text rather than a park-by-park figure.
Budget $35.40 per adult per day and have room for $82.60 in case the gate asks for more. If you are charged the higher rate, tell us and we will correct this page.

Something this page does not answer?
Fees are the one thing park authorities change without telling anyone, and some of them publish nothing at all.
Ask us. We answer questions about the park itself, and we can usually tell you which camps work on one route and who to write to. If what you want is a trip someone else arranges, we will say so and hand you to an operator we know, and we earn a commission if that becomes a booking.
