Flat rate year-round: Katavi has no peak/low season split. Permits allow multiple entries within their validity (day permit: 12 daylight hours; sleep-over permit: 24 hours).

Good to know

Gates are cashless. Pay via the Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GePG): Visa or Mastercard, or Tanzanian mobile money. Do not plan on paying cash; bring a card that works internationally.
Gate hours are 06:00–18:00. TANAPA does not publish Katavi's hours on its own pages, but this is the standard consistently reported; confirm at Sitalike when you arrive.
Bring your passport. ID is mandatory when buying permits, and non-Tanzanian East African citizens must show passports for the EA rate.
Fees are non-refundable once paid.

These are the official TANAPA 2023/24 rates, which remain the current published schedule in 2026. Despite what some websites claim, Katavi's fees did not increase in July 2025: TANAPA's own 2026 tariff page still shows $35.40 per adult per day, which is exactly the 2023/24 base rate plus VAT. Verify at tanzaniaparks.go.tz before you travel.
